Natural stone in a luxurious bathroom

For those who are after a luxurious bathroom, there is nothing better than natural stone and good-quality furniture. Arctic Frost or Nero Marquina, for example, are great choices when selecting a marble for your floor or benchtop. While the first has grey veins on white, the latter is known for its white veins over a deep black background, both being a symbol of elegance and contemporaneity.

However, apart from tiles and benchtops, we can also use marble in other elements of the project, such as door handles and tapware. With a unique design, this vanity in hazelnut oak from Zuster has the option of a marble handle inlay. This feature perfectly matches the tapware from Par Taps, which also has details in marble, either in black or white.

A black basin in glazed steel and a shaving mirror cabinet with a timber frame, from the same range as the vanity. The floor has dark marble tiles, while the walls have white marble. A fluted feature panel is proposed for the dry areas, matching the same dark timber colour as the vanity and the mirror cabinet. Black accessories complement the look, improving the sense of sophistication. For other mood boards where we suggested dark accents, click here and here.

Not all terrazzo tiles are the same

Not all terrazzo tiles are the same. Especially when made with a unique combination of tones that tie together other elements of the project. In this case, we opted for a terrazzo tile in sandy colours from Fibonacci, showcasing a combination of warm greys and notes of caramel. However, terrazzo tiles allow for many other combinations. You may find another project where we used terrazzo with grey tones here and here for example.

On the walls, we chose off-white 3D tiles in a gloss finish. They contrast with the tapware in brushed nickel, adding a touch of contemporaneity. Aiming to bring a warm atmosphere, we suggest light oak timber for the cabinetry and other objects, such as stools and shaving mirror cabinets. Shaving mirror cabinets, by the way, are excellent ways to maximize storage and add sophistication to your bathroom.

To complement the look, opt for objects made of clay ceramic in sandy tones, such as the vessel basin and the wall sconce from Robert Gordon. Also, allow for plant pots and other decorative elements in ceramic or terrazzo, which will add to the look.

Dark tones and golden accessories

The first of our mood boards matches dark tones and golden accessories, celebrating winter in a luxurious way. To create a moody bathroom, we suggest a matte black ceramic basin paired with a black wall-hung vanity. The fluted door panel with a bevelled frame adds sophistication to the piece of furniture, altogether with the countertop and handles in Corian.

Aiming to bring some coziness, mosaic tiles in emerald green. The same colour is present in the wallpaper, portraying tropical plants against a charcoal background. For the floor, neutral dark grey tiles. Regarding the tapware, we suggest wall basin mixers with curved spouts in brushed gold and hooks instead of tower rings. To complement the look, a wall sconce with frosted glass and a mirror, both with golden accents. The mirror may be either round with a simple frame, or square with a vintage frame.
